Angel Investing Basics
A hands-on session for female founders and women leaders on making your first angel investment, with real impact rigor. Build wealth, not just raise it.
Founders spend years learning to raise capital. Very few learn to deploy it.
Angel investing is how wealth compounds in an ecosystem. It's how founders become investors, and how women move from the cap table's edge to its centre.
In the region, impact investing too often means CSR with a new label. This session goes back to what the term actually means: clear intent, honest measurement and real returns.
Two hours. One room. A plan you can act on.
No slide marathon. You'll learn the basics, practise them on a real deal and leave with your own tool.
- How angel deals actually work Rounds, cheques, SAFEs and what you're really buying.
- Setting your cheque size and criteria How much to invest, how often and in what.
- Spotting impact-washing The questions that separate real impact from good marketing.
- Thinking like an investment committee A live mock IC on a real founder pitch.
Cheque-size & deal-criteria sheet
A one-page framework you fill in during the session and keep using after it.
- Your annual angel budget and cheque size
- The sectors and stages you'll back
- Your impact must-haves and deal-breakers
